a community builds and renews itself , expresses its union with the universal Church and does its part for

Liturgy - the prayer of Christ

The sacred Liturgy – that is the Eucharist and the Divine Office – is ‘the summit to which all the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time it is the fountain from which all her power flows.’ (Constitution on the Liturgy, no. 10). This is because it is the very prayer of Christ, the High Priest, which he shares with His Bride, the Church, giving perfect praise and worship to the Eternal Father and bringing about the sanctification of His people. The Hours of the Divine Office are arranged to sanctify the different times of the whole day, while the Eucharist is, as it were, the precious stone set in the golden ring. Through the Liturgy, we are privileged to pray, in the name of the Church, on behalf of all her members and indeed for the whole world.

One praying community

Even before our three communities came together, we made a start on learning some of each other's hymns and Masses. While every community has had to let some things go, we have also been enriched by the diversity of each other's liturgy - and particularly with regard to pieces composed by the sisters themselves which we had not previously heard .

We are grateful for the presence of each member of the congregation who come to pray in our church and join us for the liturgy. Likewise, we are indebted to our chaplain and other priests of our archdiocese who regularly say Mass for us and administer the sacraments. Both priests and people are always in our prayer and we ask God to bless them abundantly.

“The Church has always venerated the divine Scriptures just as she venerates the body of the Lord, since, especially in the sacred liturgy, she unceasingly receives and offers to the faithful the bread of life from the table both of God's word and of Christ's body. ”

Dei Verbum 6:21
